Our Story

What happens when a longtime friendship meets an irresistible toffee recipe? A business is born! Noelle had been making her family’s toffee for years—showing up with it at backyard bbqs, birthdays, school fundraisers, holiday parties… basically any excuse to share something delicious.

After months of saying “we should really do something with this,” Noelle and Julia finally decided to go for it. They teamed up, made it official, and launched Elle Toffee. A website went live, and within a week the orders started rolling in.

We’re a women-owned, Seattle-based team working out of a commercial kitchen, still making every batch the same careful, small-batch way Noelle’s family has for more than 30 years. Quality is our thing, and sharing really good toffee is our joy.

  • Michelle has been perfecting our main recipe for over 30 years. She is a resident of Dallas, TX with her husband, Bill, and Boston Terrier, Mr. Bond. They like to spend time in their happy place, Bluffton, SC and travelling the country to see their 5 kids, 11 grandchildren and families. Michelle is frequently seen in Seattle with her daughter, Noelle, son-in-law, and grandchildren.

    Noelle, Michelle’s daughter, has shared the family toffee with the next generation and the dreamer to start Elle Toffee to share our deliciousness far and wide. She resides in Phinney Ridge with her husband, 3 kids and 2 dogs with a day job in communications. She’s a frequent visitor of all places Phinney Ridge and Greenwood.

  • Julia and Noelle met a few years ago as busy working moms. Julia loves all things business and when Noelle shared she had always wanted to sell the toffee but didn’t know where to start, Julia said “let’s start now!”. And that night, in Noelle’s living room, Elle Toffee was born.

    Julia is a successful real estate broker in the greater Seattle area. She lives in Phinney Ridge with her husband, 3 kids, mother-in-law and new puppy, Ichiro.
